"VASTU", is a Sanskrit word which means "land" where man lives. Rules of Vastu apply on the area covered within the four walls of the house. The area which is open and has boundary by wiring only and air passes through it on both sides is not covered by Vastu. Knowledge of Directions is very important in Vastu Shastra, which is as below:-
The land on which house is proposed to be constructed must be a fertile one and not barren. This must be checked before purchasing the land. The land must be checked properly, as per method prescribed in Vastu, whether it is favourable for you or not, before purchasing. While constructing the house, the floor at North-East and North should be lower as compared to floors of other directions. The foundation should be laid in the South-East and then construction should start anticlockwise. It should not end in the South. As per Vastu, the construction of the various rooms in the house should be done as under:
Heavy items should be kept in the South - West area only. Bulbs on tube lights must be fixed so as to face North or East direction only. It gives happiness and long life. Husband and wife should not sleep in the North-East direction. In the worship room, the face of the lamp should be towards North or East direction. For worship, study of scriptures or meditation, one should sit facing towards North or East only, if necessary. Don't keep any tenant in the South-West direction. Also do not stay your guest in this direction. They should be kept in the North West only, if necessary. While sleeping, please keep your head as the east side or north side. One who wants prosperity, should never sleep on the upper floor of the place for grainery, cow shed , fire place, guru(preacher) house and temple. In order to fully utilize the benefits as enumerated in the Shastras, and to achieve prosperity and success in life, one must take action as per the above instructions and guidance. |
